Embark on a journey from Binh Dinh to Thac Do waterfall to escape the scorching summer sun.
Located approximately 15km from Phu Phong town (Tay Son district, Binh Dinh), Thac Do lies deep within the Vinh An commune (Tay Son district). Cascading from rocky cliffs, the waterfalls stand over 40m tall, with frothy white water resembling a flowing silk ribbon. It's a popular spot for weekend getaways and festive holidays for the locals of Vinh An commune and nearby areas.
To reach Thac Do, head from Phu Phong to the Vinh An commune center, then follow the road leading to the overflowing Water Gop (Kon Mon village, Vinh An commune) where you can park your vehicle next to a local's house. From the overflow, trek through a 4km forest trail, following the clean water pipeline towards Thac Do.
During this season, the forest trail boasts the beauty of wildflowers on both sides. Follow the trail to a small stream and continue upwards towards the towering Thac Do along the clean water pipeline.
Following the clean water pipeline, the stream emerges from the flow of Thac Do waterfall, with rocks stacked upon each other. If we were to liken this to a Cave Resort (Ecotourism Area Cave Resort in Tay Phu commune, Tay Son district) amidst Vinh An mountains, it wouldn't be far-fetched. The water flows over the jagged rocks, while on either side of the stream, the forest flowers boast their colors.
Continuing along the clean water pipeline, you'll reach the overflow bank of Thac Do waterfall. The overflow bank holds back the water flow, with a serene flat lake above and a fierce rushing stream below. From the overflow bank, one can see the tall white water column cascading down, which is none other than Thac Do waterfall.
Thac Do waterfall consists of 3 cascades, and the higher you go, the more intense the cascades become, pouring down vigorously.
After a trek through the jungle, crossing streams, when you touch the cool, clear water of Thac Do, everyone wants to immerse themselves in that refreshing water. The water of Thac Do is so refreshing that it can chill beverages when immersed.
