Cape Dai Lanh (or Cape Dai Dien) juts out into the sea, located in Hoa Tam commune, Dong Hoa town. Formerly known as Cap Varella, it was named after the French general Varella who first discovered it.

This is where the first rays of sunlight illuminate the S-shaped coastline. Amidst the vast expanse of sky and sea, the sunrise casts its golden glow over the lighthouse that has stood for over a century, captivating all who witness it.

Cape Dai Lanh in Phu Yen holds strategic importance for Vietnam's maritime security, marking our nation's sacred territory. At its tip stands the venerable Dai Lanh lighthouse, faithfully guiding countless vessels safely through the waters day and night.

The Da Lanh Lighthouse was constructed by the French in 1890. After completion, it operated for 55 years until temporarily ceasing during World War II. In 1961, the South Vietnamese government restored the lighthouse, only for it to be abandoned again. It wasn't until 1995 that the lighthouse was rebuilt and has remained intact ever since.

The lighthouse comprises a 5-meter tall building with a total area of 320 square meters. It is among the 45 national lighthouses currently active, emitting a signal visible up to 27 nautical miles (approximately 40km) away. The lighthouse tower is a uniformly cylindrical structure, gray in color, standing 26.5 meters above the ground, 110 meters above sea level, playing a crucial role in guiding ships and standing as the easternmost lighthouse on the mainland.

From the lighthouse, you can overlook the panoramic view of Cape Dai Lanh. The relentless crashing waves and the dense green forests leave visitors in awe of the mesmerizing natural beauty.

The harmonious blend of land and sky, of golden forests and silver seas at Cape Dai Lanh, deepens one's love for the homeland. And the Dai Lanh Lighthouse further accentuates the sacredness of the nation's territory, emphasizing the significance of every inch of land and every mile of sea.

When visiting Phu Yen, make sure to explore Cape Dai Lanh and Vietnam's oldest lighthouse to enrich your journey with the warmth of your homeland. And don't forget to follow more useful articles on Mytour's blog!
