Since mid-2019, miHoYo, the renowned game developer from China, has been unveiling the first glimpses of Genshin Impact. With its impressive graphics and gameplay, the game has captivated numerous players worldwide. Let's delve into the reasons why diving into Genshin Impact is a must in this article!

At the beginning of October, upon experiencing the official release of this game, I was thoroughly astonished by what a free-to-play title could offer (even though you can spend money to gain advantages). The hunting, flying mechanics, and combat system are so well-crafted that many thought this was the second installment of Legend of Zelda.

Let's explore the remarkable aspects that make this game unmissable.

1. It's a free-to-play game

Free! Free! Free! It's important to say it 3 times. Just kidding, but seriously, this is a completely free RPG game for you to experience. No money to download the game, no money to buy special items, and no money to own the strongest characters in the game. Everything can be earned through gameplay, however, the game still supports in-app purchases to make your progress easier. However, it does have a gacha element, so no matter how much you spend, if luck isn't on your side, you won't get stronger.

2. Multi-device support

miHoYo has been very player-friendly by bringing Genshin Impact to 4 platforms: mobile, PC, PS3, and PS4. You can use one account to play on all 4 platforms, meaning player data will be synchronized. It's convenient to switch between gaming on your computer when you're feeling adventurous and lounging with your smartphone when you're feeling lazy.

One of the challenges for many mobile games when brought to PC or other platforms is the need for emulation. This requires a fairly powerful CPU and consumes a lot of RAM. However, the game studio has truly brought this game to PC as a version specifically designed for it. My laptop is quite modest, with only an Intel Core i5 and a 940MX discrete graphics card, but it still handles this game well. 3. An incredibly unique open-world game

“Genshin Impact is a fusion of anime art style and the aesthetics of various cultures. Players will have a completely new experience when traversing through the different regions of Teyvat,” miHoYo responded when asked about the in-game environment.

Currently, Genshin Impact has only introduced 2 out of 7 regions, yet it took me over 2 weeks to explore just about 40% of this map.

Additionally, interacting with the in-game environment is a major plus for miHoYo's brainchild. You'll be amazed witnessing the weather system and its elemental interactions. Sun, rain, sunset, or sunrise,... all are portrayed in great detail and beauty. As for elemental interactions, when you use fire, the surrounding grass will burn, and when you use water or ice on fire, it will vaporize, or you can freeze water with your own element or electrocute fish with the electric element.

Not to mention, the quest system is also very diverse. In addition to the main quests, there are also weekly quests and some recreational quests like fishing, skiing, cooking,... And if you want to cook, you have to go out and gather ingredients yourself.

Oh, forgot to mention about the storyline. I've gone through about 50% of the current storyline and realized that this is a game with depth. Each character is meticulously crafted by the developers, sooner or later the game will have comics and drama just like they did with Honkai Impact 3.

4. Unique character roster and combat system

During your exploration of Teyvat, you'll encounter a diverse and colorful cast of characters, each with their own personality, who will aid you on your journey. There are a total of 23 characters you can control (some are free, some are obtained through gacha), and their abilities and combat styles vary. They harness the power to manipulate their own elemental affinities, with 7 elements including: Hydro, Pyro, Electro, Anemo, Geo, Dendro, and Cryo.

The game's combat system is fairly easy to get acquainted with, but mastering it requires time and practice. Each character has 3 main buttons: normal attack, elemental skill, and ultimate, which is relatively few compared to other RPGs. However, if you've experienced Honkai Impact 3, you'll understand how these few buttons can create stunning combos.

Switching characters during battles triggers elemental reactions, making gameplay and combat more diverse and allowing you to deal significant damage to your targets. As mentioned earlier, you also have the ability to interact with the environment using these elements.

And there are many other things like weapons, sacred relics, talents,... and countless other interesting stuff. You should experience them yourself to find out more.

5. Anime vibes galore

Anime is everywhere, anime this, anime that, don't tell me this game is for old folks, haha. Just kidding, but seriously, Genshin Impact is heavily infused with anime vibes, you wouldn't believe it's made by a Chinese developer, miHoYo.

If you pay attention, elements like isekai (reincarnation), magic, drama, or romance are smoothly integrated into the game. To enhance the anime style, players have a little companion called Paimon (often teased as emergency food). Not sure if Paimon is the final boss or not, but Paimon always brings laughter to players with her silly antics (as long as you don't take it too seriously).

As for character designs, no need to discuss further. If you watch anime, you probably already noticed. I'm not saying I like the female characters in the game or anything.

6. Authentic Translation, Multi-Language Support

I also have to give praise to the game's translation team, not only for translating the game into multiple languages but also for conveying emotions and fitting the character contexts. Many games that support Vietnamese suffer from a serious issue of sloppy translations, sometimes even word for word. But not Genshin Impact. I'm willing to read through all the character dialogues because they're quite engaging and logical.

And there are many more reasons why you should download Genshin Impact right now and join the battle. But the only thing that might hold you back could be the file size.
