Lai Vung is renowned for its nem dish, but nowadays it's perhaps better known as the “Kingdom of Pink Grapefruits.”
Visit the Pink Grapefruit Village of Lai Vung Near Tet

Lai Vung pink grapefruits, also known as Tieu Son grapefruits, have thin skin, are juicy, and turn reddish-orange when ripe, with a sweet and refreshing taste.
Located along the Hau River, enriched by silt deposition, the fertile land and favorable climate in Lai Vung result in lush pink grapefruit trees with thin skin, few seeds, and exceptionally delicious aroma compared to other regions. Currently, Lai Vung has nearly 2,000 hectares of pink grapefruit plantations, concentrated mainly in Long Hau, Tan Phuoc, Tan Thanh, Vinh Thoi... supplying over 40,000 tons of fruits to the market for the Tet season.
These grapefruits ripen in the months leading up to Tet. Visiting the pink grapefruit orchards during these days feels like stepping into a fairy tale garden with rows of trees laden with vibrant golden fruits glistening under the sun. Clusters of ripe, shiny red grapefruits, round and plump under the lush foliage, evoke a sense of satisfaction and fullness.
Traders eagerly buy Lai Vung pink grapefruits from the orchards, so these days you'll see crates of grapefruits being loaded onto trucks to be transported everywhere.
Pink grapefruits are planted along the small streams in the orchard, with their heavy branches supported by sturdy frames. They are often interplanted with pomelos and mandarins.
As pomelos and mandarins are available sporadically throughout the year while pink grapefruits are reserved for Tet, farmers intercrop them to maximize productivity.
