Nature has gifted Khanh Hoa with long, beautiful beaches. Among them lies Dốc Lết Beach in Ninh Hai commune, Ninh Hoa – a stunning beach with fine white sand and clear blue waters.
Traveling from Nha Trang city on National Highway 1 towards the North for about 49 km, you'll reach the Dốc Lết tourist area after turning right at the intersection approximately 14 km away.
Named Dốc Lết because reaching this place used to require traversing large sand dunes like towering walls. Each step sinks into the deep sand, making progress feel like an endless, playful challenge.
However, upon surpassing the sandy ridges, travelers are welcomed onto a magnificent beach with smooth, white sand stretching nearly 10 km along the coastline, accompanied by crystal-clear, pure blue sea and gentle waves.
Dốc Lết's allure lies in the untouched and rustic beauty of nature, featuring lush green coconut trees covering over 2.5 km along the length of the fine white sand coastline.
Venturing into the Azure Waters at Dốc Lết
The beach enhances its beauty with scenic pathways and green stone pavements for leisurely strolls. If you wish, you can climb the nearby hills for a conquering sensation.
Besides its natural charm, Dốc Lết is further adorned by human intervention. Straight rows of coconut trees, less than 2 meters tall, planted over a decade ago, now bear blossoms and fruit, attracting the attention of visitors.
Dốc Lết Beach boasts the shallowest sandy depth among Khanh Hoa's beaches. Even non-swimmers can comfortably run into the water as it's not deep or dangerous. The sandy seabed is dotted with many wild crab burrows. Sometimes, the crabs play and scuttle into their holes upon sensing human shadows.
Currently, Dốc Lết Beach offers recreational services organized by travel agencies, including banana boat rides, jet skiing, rowing, with prices ranging from 150,000 to 250,000 VND for 30 minutes. An exciting activity not to be missed is parasailing, priced at 450,000 VND for a thrilling 15-minute flight.
But nothing beats the thrill of coming to Dốc Lết to truly savor the feeling of solitude with the sea, handpicking fresh crabs, clams, oysters, or squid. Enjoying these fresh seafood delicacies in the shade of bamboo clusters, then running to the seashore, listening to the roaring waves and the sound of the sea breeze, is the joy of a delightful journey on a beautiful beach.
