Explore the Unique Architecture of Ve Chai Pagoda Dalat

Ve Chai, derived from the fact that the pagoda is formed from millions of pieces of broken porcelain, is an architectural wonder. Built on an area of 6,666.84m2, Ve Chai Pagoda comprises the main hall, a garden courtyard (or Dragon Flower Garden), Quan The Am hall, Bao Thap tower, an exhibition area for antiques, and the 18-floor Hell Tower. Every detail inside the pagoda - from the majestic dragon head to the three-color lotus pedestal - is the creative achievement of monks and Buddhists from Thua Thien Hue.
Most familiar to visitors is the Dragon Flower Garden - a 49m-long dragon made from 12,000 glass bottles, reflecting sunlight to create a dazzling array of light rays. Opposite the Dragon Flower Garden is the Linh Thap tower, 36 meters tall and consisting of 7 meticulously designed and decorated floors with eye-catching statues. In 2008, Linh Thap was recognized by the Vietnam Record Center as the tallest bell tower in Vietnam. At the top floor of Linh Thap is Dai Hong Chung - 4.3m high, weighing 8,500kg, with a mouth of 2.33m wide. Cast in 1999, this is currently the second largest bell in Vietnam, after the bell at Bai Dinh Pagoda in Ninh Binh.

From Linh Thap, you can stroll to the inner hall - where 324 statues of Quan The Am Bodhisattva and the Quan The Am Bodhisattva statue made of reinforced concrete in the largest indoor hall in Vietnam (recorded in 2024 by the Vietnam Record Organization) are worshipped. At some point, visitors seem to be 'captivated' by the sublime, majestic, and very 'divine' beauty of these statues.
One cannot fail to mention the 17m-high, 3-ton Quan The Am Bodhisattva statue made entirely of 650,000 Immortal flowers - one of the most famous artworks at Linh Phuoc Pagoda. This is the 'spiritual child' of 600 Buddhists and 30 skilled artisans, completed in just 36 days.
