Vĩnh Long College was established under decision No. 1369/QĐ-BGD&ĐT on 01/04/2002 by the Minister of Education and Training. Its precursor, Cuu Long Correspondence University, was founded in October 1979. Over the years, the college has undergone several name changes to align with the functions, tasks, and requirements of the national education system. To date, the college has trained thousands of Science, Technology, and Management professionals for provinces in the region. Particularly in the three provinces of Vĩnh Long, Đồng Tháp, and Trà Vinh, most of the current cadre have undergone training or professional development at the college. Many of them have become leaders of the Party, State at the central, local, and grassroots levels.
Currently, the institution is collaborating with universities, offering 20 undergraduate programs; organizing training for 09 college-level programs, 06 vocational training programs, and 17 associate degree programs. The college will continue to expand the range of training programs to meet societal needs and the socio-economic development of the province and the Mekong Delta region. With an experienced teaching staff, basic training, and ongoing professional development in university teaching methods, the college places great importance on continuously improving the quality and quantity of its teaching staff.
