Established on November 11, 1956, as the Gò Vấp Vocational School, the institution was renamed several times before officially becoming Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry (IUH) on December 24, 2004.
As one of the leading applied training institutions in the country, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry always emphasizes enhancing the quality of its faculty. Currently, the university has over 1,100 faculty members, including hundreds of visiting professors invited from universities, research institutes, academies, and technical officers working in production and business units. More than 85% of the faculty hold postgraduate degrees, including over 20 professors, associate professors, over 120 doctors, and 700 masters. Many faculty members are involved in scientific research projects at the university, ministry, city, and state levels. The young, enthusiastic, professional, and knowledgeable faculty are playing an important role in the construction and development of the university.
AT THE HO CHI MINH CITY CAMPUS: Admission is conducted through 03 methods:
- Allocating 60% to 85% of the total enrollment: Admission is based on the results of the 2020 National High School Graduation Examination.
- Allocating 10% to 30% of the total enrollment: Admission is based on the academic results of grade 12 (subjects included in the corresponding admission combination) with the minimum application threshold being the total score of 3 subjects in the admission combination, equivalent to 19.50.
- Allocating 5% to 10% of the total enrollment: Admission is based on the results of the 2020 National University Entrance Exam conducted by the University of Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, the university admits students directly who have achieved national excellence in subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, … students who have won prizes in national skills competitions and have appropriate profession awards for the registered majors.
As the university strives to become a key national university, investing in upgrading the quality of infrastructure to meet the application needs of faculty and students is extremely important. Therefore, IUH has been continuously updating advanced technologies, upgrading infrastructure to serve specialized subjects as well as meeting the study and entertainment needs of students.
