Three decades ago, Nguyen Viet Xuan Elementary School (formerly known as Nguyen Viet Xuan Basic Education School) was established. Four years later, the school separated and officially took on the name Nguyen Viet Xuan Elementary School. On its founding day, the school had only 28 staff members and teachers, 14 classrooms (entirely made up of a level 4 building transferred from Mechanical Enterprise 59), with 374 students.

In the early days of its establishment, the teaching and learning conditions for both teachers and students were very challenging. There was a shortage of classrooms, no office space, no functional buildings, and a lack of teachers. Consequently, students had to attend classes in two shifts per day. However, with the care and support from the Party Committee, local authorities, and the Education sector, along with the high solidarity and determination of the entire school's staff, they gradually overcame difficulties, mobilizing all resources to improve the infrastructure. In the 2018-2019 academic year, the school had four solid multi-story buildings with 32 classrooms, adequate workrooms, service rooms, and functional rooms, meeting the teaching and learning needs of 60 teachers and over 1,366 students.

Alongside the improvement of infrastructure, the school always focuses on enhancing comprehensive education quality. The school constantly strives to improve the professional competence of the teaching staff, emphasizing the innovation of teaching methods, thoroughly exploiting existing teaching equipment, and turning each teacher into a role model for students. On October 15, 1908, a cool late autumn day, the French-Vietnamese Elementary School, the predecessor of Trung Vuong Elementary School today, was established. This is also the only school in the province that trained the first intellectuals of Thai Nguyen in a bilingual system of Vietnamese and French.

The school pays special attention to building a team, focusing on innovating teaching methods to enhance both general and specialized education quality. The school always creates conditions for teachers to pursue further education to raise training standards. To date, out of a total of 46 staff members, all have met the standards, with over 97.8% surpassing the standards.
