For outdoor adventures, hike to Takachiho Mountain Trail. This narrow gorge along the Gokase River, formed by erosion from Mount Aso volcanic ash, offers a breathtaking view of waterfalls, creating a picturesque backdrop for your photos. If you're afraid of heights, you might want to avoid looking down, but you definitely won't want to miss the spectacular scenery of the river below!

Fukuoka's number one dish is Hakata ramen! Known as the ramen capital of Japan, the city is the birthplace of tonkotsu ramen, featuring chewy noodles with a rich creamy broth and tender chashu pork. Fukuoka's Hakata ramen is truly a culinary delight.

Another must-try in Fukuoka is Motsunabe, a type of nabemono or hot pot, made from beef/pork tripe or other offal stewed with vegetables. It's a local favorite, so before you judge, give it a try; you might just love this signature dish of the city!

If you want to explore more of Fukuoka's cuisine, head to the street food stalls known as yatai! There are plenty of these eateries throughout the city, but the Nakasu Island is the hotspot. Most street food stalls are open from 6 pm to 2 am and often closed on Sundays, so plan your dinner adventure accordingly.
