Throughout the length of our homeland, from North to South, lie vast mountain ranges, witnesses to the ever-changing history, evolving into renowned tourist destinations. Here are the top 5 most captivating high peaks in Vietnam, recommended by Vietnam Record:
1. Phan Xi Pan Mountain (Lao Cai)
Phan Xi Pan Mountain, part of the Hoang Lien Son range in Lao Cai province, stands at 3,143m, the highest peak in Indochina, often referred to as the “roof of Indochina”. To conquer Phan Xi Pan, there are three routes: the path through Cat Cat village, the path through Sin Chai village, and the route through O Qui Ho Pass. Hikers usually opt for the Cat Cat village route, a 4-day, 3-night journey.

Trekking Phan Xi Pan Mountain is truly exhilarating. At the foot of the mountain are native trees such as jackfruit, persimmon, and rice... ascending, you encounter primeval forests, entangled vines. As you reach over 2,000m, mist blankets the surroundings, stepping into the clouds... As you ascend further, the sky clears, temperatures drop significantly. At nearly 3,000m, a milestone from 1905 marks the French explorers' arrival. At the summit, there's a 70cm stainless steel pinnacle, a relic left by Russian and German athletes who reached the roof of Indochina in 1984.
