Discover the beauty of Western Vietnam in January by exploring Tet flower villages in full bloom
Tan Quy Dong Flower Village, Sa Dec (Dong Thap)
Situated in the Southern ornamental flower hub, Sa Dec, specifically Tan Quy Dong Flower Village, is always a preferred destination for tourists as the Lunar New Year approaches. Approximately 4-5 km down Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, turning right onto Provincial Road 848, crossing Nang Hai Bridge marks the entrance to Sa Nhien Hamlet. It serves as the gateway to the renowned Tan Quy Dong Flower Village for generations.

In normal days, locals focus on cultivating wet rice. However, as Tet approaches, they also cultivate flowers, a traditional profession and an additional source of income. During the season, everyone in this area goes to the fields to 'plant' flowers, creating a bustling, lively atmosphere as if Tet has arrived. Hence, people often say the people of Sa Dec celebrate Tet early; as soon as they see this village bustling, they know that Spring is on its way.

Situated closest to Saigon among the famous flower villages in the Mekong Delta (approximately 70 km away), Mỹ Tho is where many tourists flock to admire and capture photos of Tet flowers. Here, you'll undoubtedly feel the festive atmosphere as you witness the caretakers bustling with activity, transporting flowers for sale.
Bonsai Village in Chợ Lách – Cái Mơn, Bến Tre
In the days leading up to Tet, the air in Chợ Lách – Cái Mơn, known as the “Kingdom of Bonsai and Fruit Trees” nationwide, is vibrant day and night. Gardeners are diligently tending to rows of flowers in preparation for Tet. The river boats are also busy with continuous journeys of flower shipments.

Cái Mơn Bonsai Village boasts thousands of households cultivating various flowers such as vạn thọ, hoa giấy, cúc đại đóa, cúc mâm xôi, thược dược, cẩm chướng, hồng... Alongside them are hundreds of exquisite bonsai trees, flower bonsais, leaf bonsais, and fruit tree bonsais crafted by the skilled hands of artisans.

Not only renowned for its flowers, Cái Mơn is also known as one of the largest fruit orchards in the Mekong Delta, featuring a wide array of sweet and fragrant fruits: rambutan, mango, orange, mangosteen, durian, green-skinned pomelo, and more.
Flower Village in Thới Nhựt, Cần Thơ
While not as renowned as Tân Quy Đông or Cái Mơn, Thới Nhựt Flower Village (or Bà Bộ) is a captivating flower-viewing spot if you find yourself in Cần Thơ during the Tet season. With a history spanning over 100 years, the village was initially known for cultivating traditional flowers and plants of the Mekong Delta, such as apricot blossoms, daisies, medicinal herbs, and sunflowers.

In recent years, Thới Nhựt has introduced unique flower varieties like Indonesian chrysanthemums, French marigolds, and Thai dragon fruit flowers. The craft village now covers an area of over 40 hectares, with nearly 200 households cultivating flowers and bonsai trees. Annually, they supply over 350,000 baskets of various flowers to the market.
