Amazon Echo Buds 2 have a very common design, almost mundane, indicating a tried and tested form factor rather than reinventing the wheel. The charging case is compact and easy to slip into your jeans pocket. The earbuds are of regular size and maintain their position even when you're on a treadmill or checking your son's cycling progress.
Why these earbuds differ becomes clear as you set them up. Unlike conventional Bluetooth-paired earbuds, Echo Buds are paired through the Alexa app, just like any new Echo device. It's quite simple and takes about a minute for the app to find the new device and link it. After completion, the app will check for a snug fit in your ears and also allow you to select the apps you want to stream directly from.
Upon completion, I can simply say, “Alexa, play Malayalam songs” and Echo Buds will start streaming from Hungama or Spotify. I can also request Alexa to switch tracks or increase the volume, all without touching the earbuds. Any skills I use on the Echo device also work here. I can also ask Alexa to make calls to contacts saved in my phone.

However, there are some issues I noticed. Firstly, the earbuds produce a slight disconnection sound when you're running or moving quickly.
