ASUS ExpertBook B5 delivers a premium and sleek feel right from the first glance. The machine features a minimalist design with sharp corners and edges, giving it a masculine, powerful look. With both A and D sides made of pure aluminum and the remaining area made of Aluminum-Magnesium alloy, the ASUS ExpertBook B5 weighs only 1.1 kg, making it easy to carry around and ready to work anywhere.

On the front face of ASUS ExpertBook B5, there is a simple design featuring only the ASUS logo centered and the ExpertBook logo placed in the top left corner. This front panel is finished in a matte texture to reduce sweat and fingerprint smudges, enhancing both grip and aesthetic appeal. Looking at the left side, you'll find two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a micro HDMI port, and a cluster of LED status indicators. Meanwhile, on the right side, you'll encounter the power button with an integrated fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB-A port, an HDMI port, and a Kensington lock.

While this screen specification is quite standard in this product segment, it doesn't mean that the ASUS ExpertBook B5 display is subpar. You'll still enjoy a crisp, clear display with true-to-life, vibrant colors reproducing 100% of the sRGB color gamut.

One thing I particularly like about the ASUS ExpertBook B5 display is its anti-glare feature. The anti-glare coating reduces screen reflections, allowing you to use the ASUS ExpertBook B5 both indoors and outdoors without difficulty in viewing content on the screen. Combined with a brightness of around 300 nits, I believe the ASUS ExpertBook B5 can perform well in various lighting conditions.

The keyboard and touchpad of ASUS ExpertBook B5 provide an exceptional experience

ASUS ExpertBook B5 features a chiclet keyboard with excellent backlight support, providing very responsive typing feedback. The spacing between keys is also quite reasonable, so it doesn't cause fatigue or strain on the fingers while typing. The addition of backlighting in the keyboard also makes working more convenient, especially in low-light conditions such as in meetings or working at night. As I mentioned in the design section, the hinge of the ASUS ExpertBook B5 also provides you with an angle between the desk surface and the keyboard, resulting in a comfortable typing posture and reduced hand fatigue.

The touchpad of ASUS ExpertBook B5 is of average size, not overly spacious but sufficient for performing swiping, tapping, and navigation tasks. A highlight on the ASUS ExpertBook B5 touchpad is the ASUS NumberPad 2.0, a backlit numeric keypad that proves useful for users who frequently work with numbers. To activate/deactivate this keypad, simply press the NumberPad icon in the top right corner of the touchpad. Personally, I find this feature very useful, especially for those involved in accounting or tasks requiring calculations.

Let's start by taking a quick look at the specifications of ASUS ExpertBook B5:

Based on the above specifications, I believe ASUS ExpertBook B5 can easily handle all our daily tasks without any difficulty. The 512GB SSD storage also provides ample space for storing documents, movies, photos, etc., allowing you to download and store content with ease.

In the Cinebench R15 performance test conducted by Pokde.net, ASUS ExpertBook B5 scored 828 multi-core points and 200 single-core points, which are comparable to machines running Intel Core i7 chips. However, if you require professional video/image editing, consider upgrading the RAM capacity.

I personally assess the battery life of ASUS ExpertBook B5 to be acceptable, but you'll need to carry the charger with you if you plan on using the laptop extensively. However, to achieve the slim and lightweight design of the ASUS ExpertBook B5, sacrifices may have been made in battery capacity. We can understand and accept this trade-off.
