Ruifang District is a charming district located in New Taipei City (New Taipei). You can easily reach this place with Taiwan Railways from Taipei Station within 45 minutes. The famous tourist destination Chiufen/Jiufen Village is located in Ruifang, and the public transportation system can take you to the Northeast Coast of Taiwan, where you will be amazed by the breathtaking natural scenery.

1. Chiufen/Jiufen Old Street

Jiufen is a famous destination for travelers to experience the fusion of Chinese and Japanese culture. The charming little village became famous for the discovery of gold in the surrounding mountains during the Japanese colonial period. Today, you can still see the influence of Japan on the architecture and material culture amidst the alleys filled with souvenir shops and Taiwanese eateries.
Along the Old Street, you can find Chinese handicrafts such as woodcarving with calligraphy and incense. If you are a history and culture enthusiast, you will surely step into each store to learn more stories here.
What you need to know: You can try snacks before buying. The vendors are very friendly and hospitable.
Nine Parts - A Hidden Gem

How to get there: Take the Taiwan Railway (TR) to Ruifang Station. Upon exiting the station, cross the street to the bus station and take the Keelung shuttle bus to Jiufen
2. Song Seaside / Yin Yang Sea

The name of this place says it all. The sea here is truly a blend of gold and emerald. Years ago, there were mining activities along the coast, and the golden hue is due to chemical runoff. Climb the hill and behold this stunning panorama.
What you need to know: The two colors become most distinct right after heavy rainfall.

Danshui (Tamshui/Danshui)-
Located at the northern tip of Taipei, Danshui is a picturesque small town, famous for its breathtaking sunset views along the beautiful coastline. This historic town is also a favorite destination for day trips for both locals and tourists, to take a break from city life. In Danshui, you can spend the whole day wandering around the old streets of the city and sitting by the seaside enjoying a cup of coffee while waiting for the sunset.
How to get there: Take MRT Red Line 2 to Tamshui (淡水), the station is located to the north. After leaving the station, turn left to reach Old Street Danshui and the riverside.
