Exploring Innovations in My Neighborhood, Part 2
Assignment: Reflecting on Innovations in My Village
Time flies by swiftly; it's been three years since I moved to the city for living and studying. This summer break, my parents allowed me to visit our hometown to see my grandparents. The scenery here left me astonished, prompting me to exclaim, 'The changes in our village are truly miraculous!'
As soon as I stepped foot into the village gate, I was amazed and delighted to find that the dirt road of yesteryears had been replaced by a clean, wide concrete road. The sides of the road leading into the village were adorned with numerous marigold flowers in various hues, making the pathway even more beautiful. The village gate remained intact, but it seemed to have been given a fresh coat of paint. The lotus pond next to the village gate still existed but was now surrounded by a wall. Oh, the empty plot of land that used to be filled with trash and rocks has now been replaced by a new cultural center, exceptionally elegant and clean, complete with a playground for children and sports facilities for adults. I went from one astonishment to another. Along both sides of the road were tall electric poles, bringing electricity to every home. I was delighted to observe everything around me; now my village has more high-rise buildings, and the residents have acquired more modern appliances such as refrigerators, televisions, and washing machines, resulting in a higher standard of living. Everyone I met seemed to have radiant, cheerful faces. The primary and secondary schools where I used to study, once separated, have now been demolished and built adjacent to each other, making it convenient for students to attend classes every day. According to my grandfather, since the inception of the New Countryside Competition, our village has received significant investment from the government in terms of infrastructure, and the lives of the people have become increasingly prosperous. The muddy, slippery roads and rice fields of yesteryears have now become concrete roads, facilitating agricultural machinery to serve the farming work of the villagers.
My hometown has truly seen many innovations. The more I admire my homeland, the more I love and take pride in it. I pledge to myself to study diligently to contribute to the continued development of my homeland, making it even more civilized and beautiful in the future.
