Battery Percentage Display on the Status Bar
One of the major and interesting changes in the recently released iOS 16 Beta 5 update is the accurate display of battery percentage on the status bar. This feature can be enabled in the Settings app under the Battery section.
It is worth noting that this new feature is compatible with iPhone and , excluding the 5.4-inch and mini models. It is also available on and series , but not on and iPhone XR.
The display of battery percentage has been absent on iPhones with the 'notch' for many years due to space limitations. This is a welcomed change for many iPhone users. Previously, checking the accurate battery percentage required swiping into the Control Center or using the battery widget.
New Sounds for Find My Feature
When utilizing the 'Play Sound' option in the Find My app for one of your devices, various iPhone models will now emit new sounds. They are slightly louder and different from the sounds available in previous versions of iOS 16.
New Sound when Pinging iPhone from Apple Watch
When swiping up on the Apple Watch to access the Control Center, if you press the iPhone icon to ping your iPhone for locating it, you will hear a new sound. It is a sound similar to the new Find My sound.
Lock Screen Changes
The third beta of iOS 16 added a full-screen music player, and this latest fifth beta introduces a new direct mini display.
Perspective Zoom
The Perspective Zoom feature has been removed for the Lock Screen. The toggle switch to disable it has also been eliminated. It may be reintroduced in a future beta, as it has been a feature on the iPhone for some time.
Music App
In the Music app on iOS 16 beta 5, Apple has made a slight adjustment to where the Dolby Atmos and Lossless indicators are displayed. The information now sits right next to the genre, instead of below the Play and Shuffle buttons.
Screenshot Capture
When capturing a screenshot on iOS 16 beta 5, after editing it and pressing 'Done,' there's a new option to 'Copy and Delete' the screenshot instead of just deleting it.
Emergency Call
When you press and hold the power button or quickly press to go to the emergency screen, 'Emergency SOS' has been renamed to 'Emergency Call.'
