1. Exploring Nokia 7.1: The Epitome of Mid-Range Beauty
HMD Global has officially introduced a new mid-range warrior, Nokia 7.1. Here are some quick hands-on images of the device.
DESIGN:
Nokia 7.1 boasts the most elegant design in the current mid-range segment, thanks to the perfect combination of aluminum frame and glass panels on both the front and back. While many other mid-range devices may have similar designs, Nokia 7.1 stands out due to its particularly subtle color scheme and the harmonious blend of glass and aluminum with copper accents.
The dual rear cameras along with the fingerprint sensor on the back of the device are sensibly placed. The buttons and ports remain in their familiar positions.
DISPLAY:
The Nokia 7.1 features a 5.84-inch FHD display (2280 x 1080 px) with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It has a small notch at the top housing the camera, earpiece, and other sensors. Notably, HMD claims that this Nokia 7.1 also comes with a smart display, automatically adjusting colors to suit the surrounding environment. The bottom bezel of the device is quite thick, accommodating the Nokia branding logo.
CAMERA:
HMD brings dual rear cameras to the Nokia 7.1, consisting of a 12 MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 5 MP monochrome sensor, aimed at enhancing detail and depth of field. This dual camera setup also offers Bokeh effects through AI technology. On the front, the Nokia 7.1 sports an 8 MP selfie camera supporting natural beautification.
PERFORMANCE AND INTERFACE:
The Nokia 7.1 is an Android One device running on Android 8.1. However, it will soon receive other updates to Android 9.0 Pie by the end of November. HMD Global also commits to providing the fastest updates for this device for at least 2 years. With the stock Android interface, this device runs smoothly with the Snapdragon 636 chip paired with 4 GB of RAM. The device only has a 3060 mAh battery, but it's advertised to support fast charging, allowing up to 50% charge in just 30 minutes.
PRICE:
In some markets, the Nokia 7.1 is only available in the 4/64 GB configuration (expandable up to 400GB via MicroSD card) with a price of $349 (8.1 million VND). Pre-orders will start on October 5th on Amazon, Best Buy, and BH Photo, with deliveries starting on October 28th.
This time, the Nokia 7.1 is just a slight upgrade from the earlier Nokia 7 released earlier this year. However, it's also the perfect, most fitting smartphone in the mid-range segment today, with a beautiful design and decent specifications.
