Dontnod Entertainment's games are known for their profound, intricate stories, stunning game scenes, and memorable characters. To provide players with a clearer insight into the world of Tell Me Why, the developers have shared a series of diaries containing some key points of the game.
The first video delves into the Alaskan setting of Tell Me Why and the steps the team took to create the town of Delos Crossing. As the area in the game is the home of many indigenous communities, it was crucial for the team to incorporate the perspectives of Alaska natives into every development step, including Amelia Wilson, the executive director of the Huna Heritage Foundation.
Continuing with reflections on the importance of characters like Tyler, the first transgender protagonist from a major studio and publisher, and Michael - an intriguing Tlingit man. Mainstream media often struggles to provide meaningful portrayals of indigenous and transgender individuals, as their voices are rarely integrated into the character creation process. Highlighted in this video are some of the many individuals who contributed to bringing Tyler and Michael's journey to life, including August Black, Tyler's voice actor.

There will be various ways for players to shape and guide the twin siblings, and the last video details some of those approaches. Game director Florent Guillaume describes the 'Rashomon effect' as the focal point of Alyson and Tyler's story; lead game designer Charlène Bogani explains how she and her team crafted a specific atmosphere around exploring the childhood home of the twins; and principal writer Morgan Lockhart talks about the Book of Goblins, providing hints and lore for players to unravel.
There's still much to see and discover in Tell Me Why, and the Dontnod and Xbox team hope you enjoy your time in Delos Crossing.
The first chapter of Tell Me Why will release on August 27. The second chapter will be unveiled on September 3, and the final chapter on September 10. All chapters will be available on Xbox One, Windows 10 PC, and Steam. Tell Me Why will also debut on Xbox Game Pass for console and PC.
