Exploring Siam Like a Thai Teen
Heading back to Bangkok, we had an evening stroll around the Siam area, just a few steps away from our homestay. This bustling commercial hub, often seen in Thai teen dramas, was definitely a must-visit. Along the way, we ignored all warnings about stomachaches and indulged in street food delights we stumbled upon. The risk was high, but luckily, none of us suffered any consequences, hehe.

Injecting a bit of artistry at BACC
The next morning's agenda led us to the Bangkok Art & Culture Centre. Most entertainment and dining spots in Bangkok open quite late, around 10 a.m. So, we spent a good hour snapping street style photos, constantly updating our Facebook with 3G in full swing.

BACC also draws a youthful crowd with its thought-provoking artworks. The exhibits here are all created by students or anyone with an artistic flair. Despite being a 'museum', it was far from dull; charming little details gradually emerged as we leisurely wandered through its 6-7 floors, only feeling fatigued towards the end.

Dressing up for Khaosan's nightlife scene
In the evening at Khaosan, we bumped into a friend who works as a tour guide in Thailand. The lively atmosphere here is a must-try for anyone visiting. However, due to one of our group being underage and the strict security, none of the bars allowed us in. In the end, we settled for dinner and lively conversation at a roadside eatery. Khaosan at night was gentle yet wonderfully cozy.

The vibrant vibe of The Commons
The next morning, we cruised over to The Commons, a mixed-use complex frequented not only by Thai youths but also by tourists. Lunch at Toast was delightful, with cozy shared tables and brightly lit souvenir shops... all things that kept us lingering. Despite its small size, every corner of The Commons is 'Instagram-worthy'. Thailand is known for its trendy cafes like this one here!

Getting lost amidst fragrant stalls and abundant light
Thailand is famous for its shopping paradises. We made it a mission to spend a morning wandering through Platinum, Chatuchak Market, and Talad Rod Fai Market to feast and souvenir hunt. One tip for traveling in a group like ours is to split up and follow a unified route to avoid getting lost among the hundreds of thousands of stalls here.

Book now: BTS Skytrain Day Pass
Wrapping up our trip was a nerve-wracking dash to the airport, as we got lost in BigC while shopping for snacks and forgot our way back. Aside from that hiccup, the trip was a splendid success, showcasing Thailand's blend of tradition and modernity. We ventured to must-visit spots in Thailand as well as explored fresh, youthful destinations.
Throughout the trip, we also indulged in some 'Instagram moments', relied on Google, Grab, and 3G like everyone else, but also embraced Thai culture through simple greetings, open hearts, and adaptability.
Who says you can't travel abroad alone if you haven't done it before? Who says it's too risky to go solo? We, the youth, believe that as long as we're together, we can conquer anything!
