Photographer Bryan Sansivero was assigned to capture images of a farm abandoned for more than 40 years and discovered that the house here seems to still retain its original appearance.
Exploring the abandoned farm frozen in time for over four decades in New York
Located in Commack village in Suffolk County, New York, USA, this 3.6-hectare farm dates back to 1701. The house of the abandoned farm was built in 1860. The property is named after the owner, Marion Carll.

Despite some decay, the interior of the abandoned farm's house still exudes charm reminiscent of the 19th century. The living room contains nostalgic items, including a intricately decorated piano produced by the Calenberg & Vaupel company in New York. The company started manufacturing musical instruments for the first time in 1864, four years after the farm was built. The attic room has a damp ceiling and some old rusty frames hanging on the wall by wooden hooks.

The dining room is fully equipped and elegant like the other rooms in the farm. A sturdy wooden table is placed in the middle, while a grand wooden cabinet next to it displays the family's china and glassware.

Especially during the exploration of the abandoned farm, photographer Bryan Sansivero also came across pictures of the Carll family scattered on a table. From the luxurious clothing they wore in the photos, one can see that the family members appeared quite affluent and refined.
