Sailing peacefully along the Da River, cycling through lush green forests, and experiencing the life of the Muong ethnic people during a journey to Da Bac in the late days of autumn.
Da Bac is a region located in Hoa Binh province, approximately 100 km from Hanoi. Situated amidst the Da River, this place is renowned for its picturesque natural scenery, and I was particularly impressed by the fresh air and the hospitality of the locals.
In the late days of autumn, as the heat begins to subside, I spent time exploring this land with the intention of escaping the urban hustle and bustle, as well as seeking memorable experiences on the journey.

One of the first things that delighted me upon arrival was staying at homestays with Muong families in the town. Despite being in a mountainous district, this type of service is well-developed. The architecture of the homestays, from the welcoming gate to the bedroom, is simple yet creative, reminiscent of a European-style house.
As a nature enthusiast, wanting to immerse myself in the purest environment, I decided to cycle around the villages. The winding paths amidst bamboo groves, accompanied by the gentle flow of the Da River, paint a vivid picture of the vibrant countryside. Sometimes along the way, I encountered unexpected slopes that created a strangely exhilarating feeling.
Indulging in Local Delicacies: A Must-Do in New Places

As night descends on the mountains, the surroundings become tranquil, offering a serene view of rural life. In my mind, a cheerful melody echoes, blending with the mountainous terrain and the sounds of insects. A few sips of strong wine with my companion make me reluctant to leave, forgetting about the chilly breeze.
These are just a few of my small experiences upon stepping foot in Da Bac in the late days of autumn. If you wish to create your own memories here, take the route via National Highway 6 through Hoa Binh City, then to Da Bac town. Alternatively, you can travel from Thang Long Boulevard straight to Da Chong, Hop Thinh ferry, and then to Da Bac town. The road from Che to Hop Thinh is approximately 20 km long, where you can also take a break and capture beautiful moments.
