II. Exemplary Essay: Describing the Beauty of Mountains and Forests
1. Description of the Enchanting Landscape:
My hometown, Thái Nguyên, is the cradle of tea trees. However, the image etched in my mind isn't the undulating green hills of tea, but the majestic and lush palm forests.
Wandering along the mountainous roads, palm trees are scattered everywhere. Yet, a dense palm forest is a rare sight. Hidden behind a few hills, only after traversing some peaks can one discover these long-standing palm groves. These palms grow exceptionally slowly, with some only gaining a few centimeters in height each year. Despite their slow growth, it's astonishing to think that some of these palms, in this forest, have reached heights of up to 30 meters. Palms thrive in sunlight, and within the palm forest, each tree strives to grow straight and tall, extending its branches to embrace the sunlight. Under the sunlight, the entire palm forest appears vividly green, resembling a colossal palm leaf hat. Venturing deep into the palm forest, one might feel overwhelmed as the leaves create a canopy that blocks out the sunlight, with each layer of leaves from different trees stacking upon one another. Hence, beneath the palm canopy, only a few shrubs or grasses manage to thrive. The palm forest is considered a treasure by the locals; palm fruits are valuable, and palm leaves are even more sought after. People use palm leaves to roof their houses, make hats, craft raincoats, and even fashion brooms.
I cherish palm trees, the lush palm forests, and everything that palm trees have bestowed upon humanity. I hope that these palm forests will always be preserved and protected.
2. Description of the Enchanting Landscape:
During our class field trip, we had the opportunity to explore Cuc Phuong National Park, a rare pristine forest in our country.
The beauty of this primary forest starkly differs from all other ordinary forests. What sets it apart is the rich diversity and ancient existence of various flora and fauna beneath the canopy of Cuc Phuong. The forest is vast, and it takes quite a distance to travel from the forest edge to its core. Thanks to the small trail, we could easily move around, simultaneously learning and admiring the surrounding trees. Among the unfamiliar species, exquisite flowers, and the palpable lushness within the Cuc Phuong forest, I was particularly impressed by the ancient towering trees. Looking up from below, it felt as though these trees had pierced through the forest canopy. Then there were the climbing vines that spread across the forest, creating a complex web connecting one tree to another, transforming the forest into a intricate spider's web. Mentioning Cuc Phuong, people immediately think of the thousand-year-old Strychnine tree, and it's truly marvelous to see it thriving, remaining vibrant, and welcoming visitors daily.
Befriending the forest, I immersed myself in a space of vibrant greenery, freshness, and coolness. I blended with nature, trees, and above all, I felt the breath of the forest, learning to appreciate the value of these wooded areas.
3. Description of the Enchanting Landscape:
In the nostalgic memories of my innocent childhood, my poetry was always accompanied by friends, games, joyous days, and most importantly, everything unfolded beneath the lush pine forest canopy.
Pine forests, when viewed from a distance, exhibit a deep green hue, but up close, they reveal a blend of rich green and brown tones, punctuated with the vibrant green of the leaves, the brown of the tree trunks, and the young green of the lower vegetation. I adore observing pine forests after a rain shower, when the sky is at its bluest, and the vibrant green of the pine trees resonates with the melodious songs of birds. I reminisce about summer afternoons spent playing in the pine forest with my friends. The forest was cool and airy, devoid of dense vegetation. We collected pine cones and brought them home, crafting them into various shapes as memorabilia. Sitting beneath a pine tree, we shared stories and sang for each other. Our songs harmonized with the gentle rustling of the wind in the forest, creating a soothing and pleasant symphony. On cold winter days, when mist and fog shrouded the pine forest, it seemed to 'disappear,' leaving no trace. Only when you approached closely could you see the pine trees emerging from the white veil of fog and clouds.
After numerous years, now that I've grown, the pine forest still stands, but the playful journeys into the pine forest are no more. The pine forest has transformed into a place etching the memories of my childhood.
