According to the elders in the village, in the past, the main livelihood of the entire village was mat weaving, then sold to traders. On average, the village weaved fifty to sixty pairs of mats per day.
Although raw materials like reeds and rushes are not readily available in Cẩm Nê, villagers gather and purchase them from nearby areas to serve mat production, which does not hinder the mat weaving craft. Cẩm Nê mats vary in size, patterns, and types. Users can find a wide range of products here, from plain mats to intricately designed floral mats, all artistically appealing.
