In February 2013, I had the opportunity to visit Mui Ne, a coastal area about 220 kilometers east of Ho Chi Minh City. This has been my parents' annual destination for the past 7 years, so I thought I should join them once to understand why they keep coming back here. And after the Mui Ne journey, I found the answer for myself.

During each trip to Mui Ne, he meticulously captured many images of the surroundings, life, and people here.
Mui Ne is renowned for kite flying. The southernmost area of the 15km long beach is an ideal spot for practice and competition.

Moreover, the vast expanse of white and red sand dunes resembling a desert is also a prominent feature of this coastal town. Sliding down the dunes on plastic boards left an indelible impression on me. Near the fishing village of Ham Tien is a fairly famous stream. Walking along the stream, I couldn't help but be amazed by the majestic scenery and the steep cliffs on both sides.

This time, we traveled from Ho Chi Minh City to Mui Ne by coach ($7-8/ticket), which took about 6 hours. Along the way, the bus stopped at a rest area for about 30 minutes for passengers to relax and rest. Alternatively, you can also rent a private car for around $110. Throughout the journey, I was captivated by the surrounding scenery. I vividly remember passing through many lush dragon fruit gardens, all very enticing.

During our stay in Mui Ne, my family and I decided to take a break at Little Mui Ne resort. Our room was just about 10m away from the beach. Since my parents visit here every year, they've become regular customers.
For many, the beach near the resort we stayed at may not seem ideal, but for my parents and me, it's a wonderful retreat. We enjoy watching the fishermen cast their nets. Sometimes, we even offer to help them. My dad knows a family here. They are incredibly hospitable and friendly. They're willing to give us the opportunity to experience fishing at sea.

There are plenty of local restaurants in this area. They serve delicious dishes at reasonable prices. I've had the chance to try numerous specialties from the sea. Besides the food, what I love most about Mui Ne is the motorbike rental service. You can rent a bike (and a driver) to explore freely.

After Mui Ne, you can continue your journey to other famous destinations like Da Lat and Nha Trang.
