II. Sample Article of Social Discourse on Patriotism and Love for One's Homeland
'Homeland is like a ripe cluster of sweet persimmons
For children to climb and pick every day
Homeland is the path to school
Children return with golden butterflies fluttering.'
Reading the above verses by the author Đỗ Trung Quân, surely within each person's heart there is a stirring remembrance of their homeland. Indeed, 'homeland' - two simple words yet profoundly cherished, is a place that everyone who ventures far desires to return to. Thus, the love for one's homeland always exists deeply within the hearts of us all.
So what is homeland? Homeland is where we plant and harvest, it's the land where we are born and raised. Therefore, each of us holds a love for our homeland. It is a sacred, profound, and deeply rooted emotion, always striving for the development of the homeland. Love for one's homeland is an extremely humble emotion, it does not shine brightly from afar. It originates from deep within each person's feelings, it is the love for grandparents, parents, and family. Moreover, it is the care for neighbors, always helping each other in times of difficulty. It is a passionate emotion that leads people to work together towards a common good for society. The love for one's homeland is most evident when people are far from their homeland, they leave with a longing to return, with a deep longing for their homeland. Even though they are far away, they always strive to study and work with the hope of being able to help their homeland in the future. Surely we know many examples after studying, working far from home, they have returned to their land, leaving behind the prosperity outside.
Why is homeland so important to people? Because it is where we are born and raised, it is where we are bonded with our childhood, where we playfully herd buffaloes, cut grass, fly kites with friends, it is always present with us in the stages of life. It brings us the broad feelings of family, of the village community. It also helps us to orient our lives, to define goals ahead.
As our nation integrates and develops, each of us needs to contribute more to our homeland. Especially those in rural areas or ethnic minority regions must exert much more effort, develop new rural areas, help our homeland progress and avoid falling behind. With the goal of building our nation's homeland richer and more beautiful day by day, each individual must live responsibly, continuously learn and train, and work together to protect national peace.
However, sadly, there are still people who leave their homeland without any reminiscence. Many use the support money from their homeland to go to school, but when they succeed, they turn their backs on the land that helped them. They need to understand one thing:
'Those who forget their homeland
Will never prosper as humans.'
As a child of the homeland, where rural areas still face many difficulties, I always promise myself to study hard, so that I can help my homeland in the future. No matter how far we go, even when tired and overwhelmed with life's challenges, let's always remember that our homeland will always welcome us back with open arms!
