Design and Display
In recent years, the foldable smartphone category has seen significant quality additions, with most opting for a horizontal folding design reminiscent of a book. This design language, popularized by Samsung with the Galaxy Z Fold series, has been adopted by other brands as well. Google's upcoming Pixel Fold appears to embrace a similar design language.
Tech giant Google even shared official images of its upcoming smartphone, but its design doesn't bring much innovation. Similar to recent Pixel phones, the Pixel Fold also features a distinctive horizontal camera array. The familiar Google logo remains present below.

Looking at the back of the device, you'll notice it bears a striking resemblance to the Pixel 7 Pro, accompanied by a glossy glass back and a shiny camera module. However, the phone's camera module protrudes more compared to the back.
Additionally, the inner foldable screen bezels of the Pixel Fold will be quite thick, if recent leaked images are accurate. However, they are symmetrically designed, and it seems Google won't use a hole-punch design for the selfie camera. Instead, this sensor will be placed near the top edge.
Regarding the hinge, YouTuber Dave2D revealed that the Pixel Fold will utilize a new droplet-shaped hinge mechanism to minimize visible screen creases. The inner screen is said to have a gentler folding angle thanks to a hinge design similar to the OPPO Find N2. This mechanism will allow the smartphone to fold completely without leaving any gap between the two halves, unlike the Galaxy Z Fold4.

In terms of display quality, the Pixel Fold is said to use a panel manufactured by Samsung, with a resolution of 1,840 x 2,208 pixels and dimensions of 123mm x 148mm (7.6-inch diagonal). The screen will have a brightness of 1,200 nits and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The phone will feature a secondary 5.8-inch display on the front.
Technical Specifications
Pixel Fold will utilize Google's in-house Tensor G2 chipset, similar to the latest Pixel 7 lineup. It will come in white or black color options with storage capacities of 256GB or exclusively black with 512GB storage.
While there isn't much information available about the phone's camera, a report suggests it will feature a triple rear camera setup with a 64MP Sony IMX787 main sensor, accompanied by a 10.8MP Samsung S5K3J1 telephoto lens and a 12MP Sony IMX386 ultra-wide-angle camera. The selfie camera will be located on the foldable screen and will use an 8MP Sony IMX355 sensor, with another Samsung S5K3J1 camera on the front-facing secondary display.

Google Pixel Fold is rumored to have the largest battery among foldable smartphones. While it may not reach the 5,000mAh mark, it is expected to surpass the 4,400mAh battery of the Z Fold4 and the 4,520mAh battery of the OPPO Find N2. According to a leaked source, the Pixel Fold's battery will have a capacity of 4,821mAh with 30W fast charging support. It's claimed to provide up to 72 hours of usage time. In terms of software, the device will run on Android 12L—a version of Android designed specifically for tablets and foldable devices.

To thrive in this fiercely competitive market, Pixel Fold needs to have competitive pricing, regardless of its premium features. Unfortunately, initial reports indicate that this smartphone will come at a hefty price tag. Specifically, the 256GB variant of Pixel Fold is rumored to be priced at $1,799 (approximately 42.18 million Vietnamese dong), while the 512GB model is expected to cost $1,919 (around 45 million Vietnamese dong).
