Unveiling Thanh Hoa's Wonders - 10 Unmissable Check-In Locations
Fairy Fish Springs
Located over 80 km northwest of Thanh Hoa city center, Fairy Fish Springs in Cam Luong (also known as Ngoc Stream or Ngoc Spring) rests beneath Truong Sinh Mountain, nestled in Luong Ngoc hamlet, Cam Luong commune (Cam Thuy, Thanh Hoa). Surrounded by towering limestone cliffs, Ngoc Stream stretches just over a hundred meters long and 3-4 meters wide. Here, thousands of fish (weighing from 2 to 8 kg, with some giant fish reaching up to 30 kg) of peculiar shapes and vibrant colors inhabit the waters. Each swim causes their luminous bodies to gleam.

During the dry season, Ngoc Stream's depths shrink to 20-40 cm, its crystal-clear waters allowing visitors to gently stroke the fish. Despite the dense fish population, the stream remains odorless. Locals from Luong Ngoc hamlet often carry spring water home for cooking, bathing, and laundry. This fascinating tourist spot attracts thousands of domestic and international visitors annually.
The Majestic Ho Citadel
The Ho Citadel (also known as Thanh Hoa Citadel, An Ton Citadel, Western Capital Citadel, or Western Victory Citadel) served as the capital of Dai Ngu (the official name of Vietnam during the Ho Dynasty), situated in what is now Thanh Hoa Province. This fortress boasts a rare and massive stone architecture, remaining one of the most valuable and unique stone citadels in Southeast Asia and one of the few stone fortifications still standing in the world.

The Enigmatic Stone Drums
The Stone Drums are two rocky outcrops perched on Truong Le Mountain Range in Sam Son Town, resembling a pair of gigantic stone birds huddling together, heads inclined. Below, waves crash against the rocks, while above, the winds whisper, creating an ambiance reminiscent of the intimate conversations of the Stone Drums. Despite their precarious position, these rocks stand firm against the test of time, enduring the ebb and flow of the years. Through sun, rain, mist, and moonlight, the Stone Drums remain steadfast, nestled amidst the azure sky.
