Destruction is a fate highly valued by players in the VTMP mode of Honkai: Star Rail. Moreover, characters aligned with this aeon are the game's meta.
Led by the formidable Nanook, Destruction boasts unparalleled strength. Hence, in the Simulated Space, the blessings and echoes of this fate are versatile and potent, especially for DPS and support characters relying heavily on ATK stats. So, how potent can Destruction truly become?

The Overall Power of Destruction
Destruction possesses two facets of strength: when HP is below 40% and when HP is above 50%.
Specifically, if players fail to reduce HP to 30% or at least 40%, Nanook's boost to characters only reaches 111% ATK, 55% defense, 22.5% effect resistance. Moreover, some buffs like Matter Inversion Equation (3 stars), Shining Detonation (2 stars), Satellite Guard (1 star)... get disabled as they only take effect when characters are under 50% HP. Additionally, accumulating only 15 layers of Battle Will is extremely challenging, significantly reducing damage output and survivability.

On the other hand, if players lower HP below 40%, ideally with 25-30% HP, the boost is immense, reaching 123% base ATK, 82.5% base defense, 33.75% effect resistance; 105% ATK, 105% defense from Battle Will. These damage levels make it challenging for monsters to survive, even against formidable bosses in all worlds. If players fear one-hit kills from monsters, Nanook still has shield-creating buffs, robust survivability from Reflective Effect, Satellite Guard, Inequality Formula of Destruction, and more. Hence, monsters have a higher chance of being defeated in one strike when characters have higher HP rather than lower HP.
For Attack-oriented Fates
- Comparison includes: Vitality, Hunting, Joy, Void
When comparing the maximum effectiveness that Destruction can bring, Destruction seems to outperform Vitality. Aeon Vitality only provides a 36% critical rate, 150% critical damage, and a straightforward 198% damage output for characters using regular attacks. Although Tayzzyronth cannot boost ATK as much as Nanook, this character can increase attack speed by 36%, defense by 40%, and reduce nearly 30% of damage taken after regular attacks. In terms of statistics, Destruction may seem superior, but it's essential to note that Destruction requires relatively stringent conditions, whereas Vitality only needs a single regular attack, something any character can easily perform.

The next comparison Mytour wants to address in this article is Joy and Void. Both are destinies that require a specific condition to play. For those following Aha, players need to bring cards that deliver stable follow-up attacks, such as Jing Yuan, Yanqing, Kafka, Qingque (E4),... and IX requires characters that cause Damage Over Time (DOT) like Guinaifen, Sampo, etc.
Joy can add an additional 39% critical rate, 153% - 208% damage output from follow-up attacks. These statistics may seem relatively small, but what makes players choose this destiny lies in the Residual Effect, which can cause up to 200% additional damage to enemies. Besides its attack capability, Joy's defensive ability is quite similar to Vitality as both increase defense, heal, boost charging efficiency, and, more notably, reduce nearly 10% of damage caused by enemies.

Void provides a straight 75% armor penetration, 18% effect resistance, and 206% sustained damage for characters if they have enough layers of Doubt (99 layers) along with other simple buffs. The uniqueness of Void lies in this destiny having many blessings that are genuinely useful for characters. Typical blessings include Interrogation (75% armor penetration), Blurred Vision (18% effect resistance reduction), Night Beyond the Bonfire (45% efficiency in breaking durability),...
While these blessings are indeed useful and relatively necessary, Void falls short against Destruction because in large-scale stages like the Insect Orchestra Catastrophe with difficulty level 4, enemies typically have high survival and attack stats. As a result, Void players often fail to inflict enough damage and get defeated early. For Slaughter, these two destinies have comparable stats and effectiveness; you can read the details in the article below.

So, Mytour can draw the following conclusion:

For defensive destinies
- Comparison targets: Guardian, Affluence
Despite being a destiny focused on attack buffs and damage dealing, Destruction's survivability can be compared to high-end survival destinies like Guardian.

Before comparing Guardian and Destruction, gamers need to note that these destinies have significantly different buff capabilities. While Guardian only increases defense by 72%, the blessings and echoes of this destiny provide a dominating shield quantity. Although Destruction can also create shields, they are quite low, only 30% based on HP. However, these two destinies can be considered complementary. While Guardian enhances strength in shields, Destruction adds a lot of defense, essential stats for Guardian players. Therefore, this combo is widely used in the Insect Orchestra Catastrophe.
Affluence and Destruction are two pairs that dislike each other, even in the game's storyline or the player's gameplay style. Typically, players who favor Destruction rarely include strong healing characters in their lineup to avoid a wasted slot or, worse, being pressured. To make a choice between these options before playing, players need to determine the characters they plan to use. Here are a few small notes:
