Comprehensive Overview of Dota 2's 7.22h Update
1. General Changes
- Experience gained from jungle creeps reduced by 5% compared to the original values.
This alteration will slow down the game's progression, causing heroes to level up in the jungle at a slower pace, thereby making them less potent in the early stages of the game or in jungle farming ability.
2. Equipment Changes
- Medallion of Courage: Cost reduced from 6 to 5
- Phase Boots: Armor reduced from 5 to 4.
- Ring of Protection: Removed from the shop (no longer available)
- Solar Crest: Cost reduced from 10 to 8
The Ring of Basilius build-up for heroes is now a thing of the past, and not only that, you can't even get a Ring of Protection anymore to add a bit of armor and mitigate regen loss.
Medallion of Courage, Phase Boots, and Solar Crest were all extremely popular items at TI9 and they continue to be favored today. The power of the 7.22h update may have a slight impact, but overall, a major patch (7.23) will be needed to completely disrupt its popularity.
3. Heroes
- Kunkka: Kunkka continues to be nerfed, but he's very hard to pin down. Kunkka is a very strong solo mid lane hero, very few can beat him except for Huskar. So, even with the nerfs, he remains a fairly popular pick in any meta.
+ Ghost Ship: Cooldown increased from 60/50/40 to 70/60/50 seconds
- Mirana: The arrow speed has been reduced, making offensive maneuvers slightly more challenging. The attack speed of Leap will not significantly affect Mirana's support capabilities.
+ Leap: Attack speed after Leap reduced from 60/80/100/120 to 25/50/75/100.
+ Sacred Arrow: Arrow flying speed reduced from 950 to 900.
- Night Stalker: Night Stalker was also one of the most banned heroes in WePlay Reshuffle Madness 2019. As a result, he has been nerfed in 7.22h.
+ Hunter in the Night: Night attack speed reduced from 30/50/70/90 to 20/40/60/80.
+ Crippling Fear: Duration reduced from 5/6/7/8 to 4/5/6/7 seconds.
+ Level 20 Talent: Reduced from +50 Damage to +40.
+ Level 25 Talent: Night attack speed bonus reduced from +140 to +110.
- Tiny: Avalanche damage has been reduced and Toss cooldown increased at early levels, meaning winning the lane with Tiny or having impactful engagements will be diminished, but he remains a formidable hero.
+ Avalanche: Damage reduced from 90/160/230/300 to 75/150/225/300.
+ Toss: Cooldown increased from 11 to 17/15/13/11 seconds.
- Windranger: Mana talent is crucial for Windranger as she's a hero with four abilities to utilize it with. The reduction from +3 to +2 may seem minor, but it will decrease her ability to spam skills. A bit of mana is essential for Windranger and could be the difference between life and death.
+ Level 10 Talent: Mana Regen +3 reduced to +2.
The changes in Update 7.22h Dota 2 could directly impact highly favored heroes in professional tournaments like Mirana and Tiny, top picks. Perhaps gamers should adapt new strategies to better suit this update.
