My Dalat backpacking experience with my group of friends.
It was October and November, the season of golden hues over the misty city. Unable to resist the allure, I embarked on this vibrant journey. Ignoring all concerns, I simply took my bike and left behind all worries to embrace the melancholic city.
I and a few friends set off to explore Dalat with a fresh perspective. When the highland rains subsided. When the wild sunflowers still bloomed.

Day 1: City of Melancholy
Departure from Biên Hòa
We left Biên Hòa City before the rooster crowed. At 2 a.m. on Saturday, our entire group gathered and headed to Đà Lạt. We chose motorbikes as our mode of transportation, despite knowing it wasn't the safest option. However, the feeling of being able to stop wherever we liked to take photos made us feel more at ease.

Following Highway 20, we crossed Bảo Lộc Pass, a treacherous pass in Lâm Đồng Province. It was 5:30 a.m. but the sky remained dark.
Arriving at the Liên Khương Junction at 7:30 a.m., our group welcomed a friend from Đắk Lắk to join us on the journey to Đà Lạt. However, we couldn't rush into the city like that.

We took Highway 27 towards Lâm Hà via Nam Ban to reach Tà Nung commune and enjoy a cup of Mê Linh coffee with an incredibly picturesque view.
Opting for roadside breakfast, we stopped by any delicious-looking eateries we came across. Around 8:30 a.m., we arrived at Coffee Mê Linh.

Just enough for some Instagram-worthy shots before heading back, our group conquered Tà Nung Pass heading towards Cù Lần Village.

Arriving at the tourist area of Cù Lần Village.
The entrance fee to Cù Lần Village is 40k per person. You can rent a jeep to explore, with the ticket price for the jeep being 100k per person.

After visiting Cù Lần Village, the group began moving into the city to find a hotel. You can rent accommodations in the Nam Kỳ Khởi Nghĩa area. Prices are affordable and suitable for group travel.
For a more stylish experience, you can look for vintage-style homestays.
The bustling and vibrant Đà Lạt Market

Đà Lạt Market
After checking in and freshening up, as darkness fell, the whole group wandered around Đà Lạt Market for snacks. With a sudden drizzle, our feet hurriedly sought out a stall selling grilled sweet potatoes to warm up.

Ending a chilly evening, the whole group headed to Hai Bà Trưng Street to find something to eat before returning to the hotel to rest. The next morning, while everyone was still asleep, I eagerly woke up to go to Thiên Phúc Hill to watch the sunrise.
Thiên Phúc Hill at 5:30 in the early morning

Thiên Phúc Hill. It was 5:30 in the morning, but unfortunately, the sun wasn't visible 🙁
I wandered around Đà Lạt, passing through rows of houses and winding streets of the city. I hurried past Xuân An Bánh Canh to grab a bowl of beef noodle soup because I hadn't eaten anything all morning.
Then we passed by Trại Mát, where we arranged to meet the whole team to visit Linh Phước Pagoda, also known as Bottle Pagoda, with its magnificent architecture.

By 10 a.m., at noon, the entire group returned to check out and head back to bustling Biên Hòa, bidding farewell to this lovely city.
The time was too short to explore all of Đà Lạt. On the way back, there were many other groups traveling together, and the feeling of riding, meeting, and experiencing together was quite interesting. We'll see you again, Đà Lạt, in another season.
Listing all expenses, it amounted to around 1 million VND per person. If you're not comfortable riding a motorbike, you can opt for tour packages from various companies. The prices are reasonable, and the services are attentive.
