Genshin Impact boasts numerous challenging regions for players to navigate.
1. Yashiori Island
Yashiori Island, situated among the many isles of the Inazuma region, lies to the west and stands as one of the game's most daunting exploration spots.

Upon stepping foot on Yashiori Island, players are met with a barrage of obstacles. Thunderstorms, rain, and formidable foes make survival a struggle here. Additionally, the effects of lightning can induce headaches and dizziness, adding to the challenge. The Musoujin Gorge area on the island is highly electrified, gradually draining players' HP until death if they linger for too long.

The sole method to ease the hardcore nature of Yashiori Island is to undertake the legendary quest 'Orobashi's Legacy', restoring tranquility to its weather.
Inazuma indeed proves to be a harsh land, with Tatarasuna Island serving as a prime example. Nestled between Narukami Island and Yashiori Island, this area suffers severe 'electro-attribution' pollution, once a thriving mine now rendered unusable. Venturing into the central mine area, players risk elemental electro exposure and gradual HP erosion.

Besides the constant HP depletion while exploring the island, players also contend with formidable adversaries easily overpowering them. To tackle this 'pollution' issue, players must complete the 'Tatara Tales' quest, though it consumes considerable time as the quest resets daily until the area is no longer electrified.
3. Dragonspine Snowy Mountains
Introduced in version 1.2, Dragonspine Snowy Mountains quickly became one of the least desirable areas for players to venture into. This region is heavily affected by freezing temperatures, and when a character's chill reaches its maximum, their HP rapidly depletes until death.

The only way to avoid freezing to death in Dragonspine Snowy Mountains is to stay close to fires or heating devices. These are scattered throughout the area, yet during exploration, we may overlook them, resulting in team members succumbing to the cold.
Additionally, the enemies in Dragonspine Snowy Mountains are also the main reason why many travelers perish here. From Cryo Abyss Mages, Fatui, Cryo Slimes to Cryo Cicin Mages, all pose a significant threat to players in such harsh weather conditions.
4. Mount Qingyun
In Liyue, there are numerous areas where players must literally climb mountains and cross streams. To fully explore many areas, we have to climb tirelessly. The highest and most challenging location is perhaps Mount Qingyun.

Without unlocking the teleport waypoints in this area, players will struggle immensely to ascend the mountain and activate the Statue of The Seven. Fortunately, things become easier once the waypoints are unlocked. Occasionally, there are also updrafts that aid in gliding from one peak to another.
5. Stormterror's Lair

Stormterror's Lair is not the most difficult area to explore in Genshin Impact. But for newcomers, it remains one of the most challenging regions in Mondstadt. It's the dwelling place of the dragon Dvalin, with numerous relic guards and wind barriers making movement more difficult.
