Where Heroic Deeds Are Enshrined

Established in 1977, the museum is located on the former grounds of the Imperial City, Thanh Thành La Qua Province, now the center of Dien Ban district, Quang Nam province. This destination in the Hoi An tourist itinerary is the earliest district-level museum built and formed in Quang Nam province in particular and also in the country as a whole.
With a scale of over 15,000m2, the museum houses more than 500 paintings, photos, artifacts, and is a rich display from the prehistoric cultural background, to the formation and revolutionary struggle of the people of Dien Ban from the period before 1930 to 1975. Following that is the exhibition room depicting the history of formation, the struggle, and development process of the people and military of Dien Ban from before 1930 to 1975. Emerging from that past, the people of Dien Ban today have united to build a homeland that is increasingly modern and prosperous.
Not only does this tourist destination provide valuable historical materials to visitors, but it also features an exhibition room dedicated to Tuong – one of the traditional arts of Quang Nam. Here, visitors can learn more about Tuong through artifacts such as masks, manuscripts, and learn more about Nguyen Hien Dinh – the Father of Vietnamese Tuong art.

In particular, visitors to the museum should not miss the opportunity to admire the unique collection of antique oil lamps donated by Mr. Le Cong Chiem. This collection includes 270 antique lamps diverse in style, rich in materials, from different eras. All have been collected here from all provinces and cities in Vietnam and around the world over the past 20 years.
Before bidding farewell to the museum, visitors will experience the wonder of a solid teak wood table over 100 years old. This table has the peculiar ability to rotate on its own when someone places their hand on the surface.
