Every corner, every street in Da Lat is incredibly romantic, peaceful, and carries distinctive features that make it truly Da Lat. If you're backpacking in Da Lat, leisurely stroll along these paths leading to the city of a thousand flowers or wander through the charming small streets within the city. You'll surely be delighted by the unique features that only Da Lat possesses.
No Traffic Lights
Da Lat is a city without a traffic light system, a unique phenomenon in Vietnam. Yet, here, traffic congestion or crowded streets are rarely seen, unlike other cities.

Some claim that in Da Lat, the roads are narrow, and the population is sparse, so traffic lights are unnecessary. However, this may not be accurate because even with just two people, accidents can happen without mutual awareness, as illustrated in the story 'Two goats crossing the bridge' we learned from childhood.
A unique aspect arises partly from the agrarian lifestyle of the majority of the locals. The people here exhibit a conscious respect for the law, a willingness to yield, and a harmonious way of life. Life here is steady and serene, in contrast to the bustling nature of big cities. Another contributing factor is that most roads follow a circuitous route rather than intersecting directly, unlike other cities.
Narrow Roads and Circular Routes
Da Lat is a plateau city, situated at a relatively high altitude compared to sea level. This significantly influences its road system. Unlike cities in plains with wide, interconnected roads, Da Lat's roads take a circular path with gentle slopes, leading to elevated points.

Another point is that the streets at Da Lat tourist destinations are often small and very winding, constantly going up and down. Therefore, despite being a tourist city, Da Lat does not have cyclos. Due to the road structure, cyclos would find it challenging to navigate, being cumbersome, awkward, and occupying too much space.
If you want to leisurely sit and enjoy the scenery like the feeling of riding a cyclo, you can try sitting on a horse-drawn carriage. It's a comfortable way to admire the streets, corners, lush green trees while listening to the rhythmic clip-clop of the horse's hooves, providing an incredibly peaceful experience.
The Blossoming Flower Streets
Rarely does any place have so many types of flowers displaying vibrant and dazzling colors like here. Every season, Da Lat bursts into prominent hues of flowers. If you're backpacking in Da Lat, at any time of the year, you'll discover these unique floral displays. The entire city resembles a flower forest, with each street adorned with fresh and lively blossoms.

After Tet, it's the season of cherry blossoms blooming, painting every street in shades of pink, spreading the essence of spring everywhere, most notably along Tran Hung Dao Street. Additionally, there's the pink beauty of cherry blossoms near Xuan Huong Lake, the gates of Truc Lam Zen Monastery, and Da Lat Station.
Around April and May, Da Lat adorns itself with the enchanting deep purple hues of jacaranda flowers. In Da Lat, jacaranda trees are plentiful around Xuan Huong Lake, the road leading to Da Lat Market, Bui Thi Xuan Street, central district streets, and city outskirts.

Da Lat stands out most during the wild sunflower season. From September to the end of October, every street in Da Lat bursts into vibrant yellow with the wild sunflowers. These resilient wildflowers, thriving without much care, are intricately connected to the highland's identity, embellishing hills, mountain passes, and notably the expressway connecting Duc Trong and Da Lat, Lang Biang.

Every season, Da Lat showcases a unique flower species, and each road undergoes a color transformation. If you enjoy exploring Da Lat tourist destinations, a leisurely stroll or a tranquil bike ride along these magnificent flower-lined roads is all you need to experience the distinctive charm of this land.
