Exploring the Wonders of Da Nang in 24 Hours

I consider myself fortunate to have come across the writings of blogger Uyen—she's a native of Da Nang, sharing insights into the city's finest dining spots, true to the 'delicious-affordable' spirit. So, I set out on foot to hunt down the addresses she listed.

I stumbled upon the charming Banh Cuon Tien Hung eatery located at 190 Tran Phu Street and indulged in their exquisite rolls. Banh Cuon, a dish made from rice flour, rolled with fillings of mushrooms, pork, and finely chopped chives. This delicacy pairs perfectly with a variety of sides such as cucumber, tofu, spinach, and a bowl of dipping sauce. Despite the owners not speaking English, they won me over with their fantastic cuisine. They were incredibly endearing as they guided me through the dining experience and even offered me tea afterward. And all of this for just 5 dollars.

After dining at the Vegetarian Restaurant, I took a stroll along Bach Dang Street to admire the illuminated Han River Bridge at night, stopping at a nearby riverside restaurant for refreshments. Bach Dang Street is a blend of modern eateries like The Moon River Lounge or The Waterfront Bar and old-style cafes where men sit smoking and drinking coffee on plastic chairs. You'll witness a stark contrast between the older generation's habits and the younger generation's fashion-forward trends.

Where to Stay in Da Nang

There are two prime locations in Da Nang where tourists tend to flock: the eastern side along the Han River stretching to the beautiful coastline in the city's east and the western area—a haven for street food and restaurants.

Here, you can easily find budget-friendly Da Nang hotels that suit your pocket and preferences. From opting for luxurious resorts by the beach to guesthouses nestled within residential areas, conveniently situated for shopping and sightseeing.

Impressive Sightseeing Spots

Strolling along Bach Dang Street, you'll encounter impressive landmarks such as the City People's Committee, Han Market, and Nguyen Van Troi Bridge. Here, you'll easily spot men fishing by the riverbanks and bustling boats navigating the waters. Surprisingly for a developed city like Danang, you'll be amazed by the minimal traffic flow. It's effortless to hail a taxi to reach the city center, where you can explore a maze of street food and vibrant trading areas.

Nestled just 9km from the city center, Ngu Hanh Son Mountain lies on the route to Hoi An. Named after the five elements: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth, this mountain boasts impressive temples and caves. From its summit, you can enjoy panoramic views of Danang city. Opting for the Ba Na cable car offers a scenic alternative to climbing the mountain on foot.

In Danang, you'll witness construction sites scattered throughout, indicating the city's ongoing transformation. With pristine, beautiful beaches, delectable street food, and aromatic coffee shops open 24/7, exploring Danang may feel insufficient but guarantees relaxation and memorable experiences.
