The highlight when visiting Thị Tường Cà Mau Lagoon is the stilt houses on the lake where fishermen tirelessly guard shrimp and fish day and night. The most serene view is perhaps in the early morning when the golden rays gradually appear, bringing light. At that moment, the lagoon resembles a dark and light painting, and the faces of the fishermen are not yet clearly visible. But life has already started bustling as each section of the lagoon, divided by the fishermen, begins a new day of feeding shrimp and fish.

As the evening releases the vibrant orange hues of sunset, casting a brilliant glow that reflects onto the lagoon's surface, it becomes even more enchanting and mystical. From this moment onwards, the hustle and bustle fade away, replaced by tranquility. Only the laughter in the huts, enjoying Cà Mau specialties with a glass of wine and the melodic tunes of traditional songs, breaks the silence.

The Legend of Thị Tường Lagoon
The legend of Thị Tường Cà Mau Lagoon tells the story of Bà Tường, one of the first pioneers to reclaim the land in the Cà Mau region. Bà Tường bravely and persistently drove away countless birds day and night to collect rocks to fill the sea, a task assigned by the Tiger God as punishment. This was because the Water King had rejected his proposal to marry the princess. The gaps left by Bà Tường's vigilance remain untouched, not filled with rocks, allowing fish and shrimp to thrive and sustain human life. Touched by Bà Tường's compassionate heart, people named the lagoon Thị Tường Cà Mau Lagoon in her honor.
Traveling to Thị Tường Cà Mau Lagoon will provide you with a sense of tranquility; there are no luxurious restaurants or many entertainment spots here. Initially, many visitors may feel unfamiliar, and climbing onto the charming leafy huts may seem precarious at any moment. However, the hut owners are always welcoming, exchanging cultural insights, and sharing endless stories about life.
