iOS users have officially experienced the iOS 9 beta version for over 10 days. Although it's just a beta version, users have somewhat experienced the upcoming features of the official iOS 9 release. Particularly in iOS 9, users will enjoy two new battery-saving features from Apple. Follow the instructions below to use this feature most efficiently. If you haven't upgraded to iOS 9 yet, you can download iOS 9 public beta here.
The first feature we mention is the ability to stop emitting light when receiving notifications on the iPhone, especially when the device is placed face down. Typically, if you leave your iPhone face up when there's a notification, the screen will automatically light up. However, when you place it face down, it will stop emitting light for new notifications. This is a clever and useful new feature because if the screen is faced down, emitting light serves no purpose. When you flip the iPhone back, it will light up and display previous notifications so you don't miss anything.
The second feature is the Low Power Mode. When activated, it operates in maximum power-saving mode by reducing energy for background app refresh and dynamic effects. With this feature, your iPhone or iPad will stop automatically refreshing apps and pushing mail notifications to maximize battery life.
This feature will prompt users to activate it when the battery level drops below 20%. The benefits of the Low Power Mode are displayed for users to know and enable it promptly. Recognizing whether the Low Power Mode is on is straightforward; just look at the battery icon on the top right corner of the screen—it will be yellow instead of red like in previous iOS versions.
Additionally, you can enable Low Power Mode even when the battery is above 20% by accessing Settings > Battery > Enable Low Power Mode. This is one of the most anticipated features for saving battery on iOS 9.
Above, we've guided you on how to use the battery-saving feature on iPhone 6 plus, 6, ip 5s, 5, 4s running iOS 9. Stay tuned for the official release of iOS 9 this September to experience completely new and useful features. iOS 9 is not without its bugs; check out our article on fixing errors on iOS 9 for more information.
