Since 2019, Facebook has experimented with a way for users to hide the number of likes or comments on their posts from followers. Followers can only see the names of those who reacted to the post, and Instagram has also tested a similar feature.
Facebook and Instagram officially add the option to hide likes under posts
Recently, the social media giant Facebook has begun releasing this capability to all Instagram users, followed by Facebook. With the new option, users can now hide the number of likes under posts on this popular photo and video-sharing service. To hide likes on Instagram, simply go to Settings and click on the new Posts section. Then, enable the Hide Like and View Counts option.

Facebook notes that this change aims to provide users with more control over their social media experience. The company hopes to reduce users' worries and sadness when their posts don't receive enough likes to be considered 'popular.'
