If you find yourself increasingly relying on video call services to stay in touch with friends, especially while working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, then Facebook is working to enhance this experience for you. In a recent post, the company announced that they are integrating Facebook Live into Messenger Rooms.
Follow these steps to download and install the latest version of Facebook on your phone:
With this integration, you can initiate video calls with friends in Messenger Rooms and then livestream via Facebook Live. During livestreams, you can add up to 50 people to the video call to discuss things you care about or simply have a casual chat.

Facebook seems to believe this is an excellent way to organize a book club or a group fitness class among many other forms. However, it might be a very chaotic book club if 50 random people join in on a live video call.
It's worth noting that Facebook is granting more control to content creators. You now have the ability to livestream to a Facebook user, a page, or a group. You can even invite members to join the broadcast even if they don't have a Facebook account. Moreover, creators will have the authority to add or remove members from the livestream if they wish. Additionally, they can simply lock the room if they don't want anyone barging in.
According to Facebook, this new feature is being rolled out in some countries. However, the company is hoping to bring it to many other countries where Messenger Rooms will be deployed in the near future. Facebook has integrated Messenger Rooms everywhere including WhatsApp and Instagram. However, it seems that integrating Facebook Live is only available for rooms created through Facebook or Messenger Web.
For any social network, the primary factor in retaining users is content. Understanding this, TikTok establishes a $200 million fund to support video content creators providing further incentive to produce higher quality content.
