(Homeland) - Meta implements full end-to-end encryption for Facebook Messenger, a new PIN code is required to access messages.

Recently, Meta has sent notifications to Messenger users, urging them to complete the mandatory setup process when accessing this chat application.
Specifically, users are required to create a 6-character PIN code to complete the setup. This PIN code will be used to restore chats when users log in on a new device.
Meta stated that this is part of Messenger's security upgrade and the end-to-end encryption feature will be applied to this messaging app in the near future to ensure the safety of messages and data on this platform.
End-to-end encrypted messages have been undergoing testing by Meta since 2022 and this feature is soon to be rolled out to all users.
To enable end-to-end encryption feature in Messenger, users select the toolbar at the top left corner of the screen > choose Settings > Select Privacy & Security > App Lock > Enable.

Once the feature is enabled, upon entering the Messenger app, a notification will appear requesting users to enter the PIN or FaceID to access the app.
In the near future, Meta plans to continue enhancing security for Messenger.
The implementation of this feature will not significantly impact user experience, but it will enhance security, including privacy.
