In addition to adding numerous features and new effects to its Facebook app, Facebook has recently updated the 'On This Day' feature on its mobile version to provide a better experience for its users.
Facebook updates its mobile app with a new 'On This Day' feature.
Facebook users now have daily, monthly, and seasonal memories to evoke their past experiences. This means users will be reminded frequently of posts and activities they shared throughout the summer. With On This Day, new memories can be shared on users' timelines.
Social media giant Facebook has also introduced a new 'achievement' feature. This means when a user's friend list reaches a certain number or a post they shared gets many likes, they will be notified.
In its announcement, Facebook also stated:
“We have received a lot of feedback from users over the past 2 years and have been constantly working to improve the On This Day feature, making it easier to control and access. On This Day is one of Facebook's most popular experiences and we are delighted to announce that this feature is now available to all Facebook users.”
“Finally, we understand that sometimes certain memories can evoke negative emotions that users do not want to recall. We have invested considerable effort in developing content filtering, selecting only images that we believe may be most suitable and engaging for users.”
