With the Quiet Mode, you can schedule when you want Facebook to be active and when you want the app to be silent. When Quiet Mode is enabled, Facebook will mute all notifications. Similar to Apple's Screen Time feature, it discourages app launches. If you attempt to open the app during Quiet Mode, you'll receive a reminder with a timer. You can choose to snooze or dismiss this feature for 15 minutes.
Facebook adds new Quiet Mode feature to manage app usage time
The Quiet Mode is built upon time management tools released by the company in 2018. These tools allow users to set limits on app usage time and turn off notifications for a short period.
With the introduction of Quiet Mode, Facebook is also providing more detailed usage statistics. Users can now view detailed insights over a two-week period and analyze usage time during daytime and nighttime.
Facebook promotes new features as a mental health resource for those struggling with isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company also announces they're adding mental health resources to their coronavirus information center and will donate $2 million to crisis helplines worldwide.
Quiet mode is coming soon, but it may be a few weeks before it reaches all users. Facebook says they hope this feature will be available to all iOS users by May and Android users are expected to receive it in June. In the meantime, you can download Facebook to your phone.
