The new AR games in Messenger support up to 6 players competing in real-time during video calls. Currently, Facebook is also planning to launch software Don Smile and Asteroid Attack that automatically assesses each player's abilities to control the direction of their ship using their facial expressions.
Other games like beach volleyball game Beach Bump and Kitten Kraze game will be rolled out to users in the coming weeks and months.

Augmented reality (AR) games are no longer unfamiliar in social media apps. Earlier this year, Snapchat introduced Snappables, featuring cooperative games and competitive survival games, played using the phone's camera and users' faces. Snap Inc. is also considering launching its own games, but it's uncertain whether these will be AR games or not.
