By pressing and holding on a specific message in Messenger, alongside options to add emoji reactions to messages, users can now reply to that message by tapping the new Reply button. In addition to quoting and replying to text messages, users can quote GIFs, videos, emoji reactions, and images.
Going back to January, Facebook announced plans to merge 3 apps, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Messenger onto a common technical infrastructure so users can connect and communicate across all 3 apps simultaneously.
The addition of the feature allowing quoting and replying to specific messages on Facebook Messenger will create tighter integration with WhatsApp's services, gearing up for the merging and consolidation of the apps.
Finally, the new feature on Facebook Messenger is currently being rolled out to users. Implementation may take a few days, so please be patient to experience the new feature.
