According to reports, this messaging app will utilize Machine Learning to detect anomalies in account activities, such as sending a large number of message requests to users, especially those under 18. Viewing the alert will allow victims to block potential attackers and provide some guidance on identifying fraudulent activities.
These new features seem to primarily target young users, aiming to teach them caution when engaging online, and they come at a time when misleading friend requests are on the rise due to Facebook's algorithm changes. The new feature was initially rolled out in a limited deployment in March and is now reaching more users. On iOS, it will be launched at some point next week.
