Indeed, Facebook's interface has been greatly simplified to the point where it's starting to resemble its competitor Twitter (as well as Facebook's own app) in many ways. To some extent, while some are certainly still fond of Facebook's old interface, the hope of Facebook's leadership team is that the new UI will make browsing the website and accessing various features easier. The top navigation bar has been updated to emphasize this focus.
The new navigation bar features simple, dedicated buttons for your main feed, as well as Facebook's Gaming, Marketplace, Groups, and Watch pages.
According to Facebook, the new website will also speed up load times between pages, and new posts on your homepage will appear faster than before. Perhaps not everyone will notice this difference, but for those with slow internet connections or particularly sluggish computers, it could be a very fortunate thing.
Other miscellaneous changes accompanying this overhaul include larger fonts, more responsive layouts that will adjust proportions and adapt to different screen sizes better, and of course, the new Dark Mode.
If you log into Facebook and haven't seen the new interface yet, note that the rollout will take place over the next few days, so you may have to wait a bit before it reaches you. Once it does, it will become the new default interface. You can switch back to the old Facebook interface through the dropdown menu, but it's uncertain how long this option will remain available.
