The social media giant, Facebook, states: The new Page design will focus on followers instead of likes, providing creators with a more direct measure of their fan base. This shift is because the number of page followers indicates how many people receive updates from it on their feed.
Another change is the addition of a dedicated News Feed, allowing Page owners or administrators to engage in conversations as public figures or brands and interact with their fans. This News Feed will also suggest Pages, public figures, groups, and trending topics. Users will see comments from Pages they follow at the top of the comment section on other posts, and they can also follow Pages directly from comments, suggestions, and posts.
Facebook also introduces a Questions & Answers format to enhance Page interaction with fans. This new format allows followers to ask questions about specific topics, and Page owners to respond. This is somewhat inspired by the trend on Instagram, where creators receive questions from fans and answer them in Stories.
Furthermore, admins will be able to switch between their personal profile and the Pages they manage. Important information such as bios and posts will also be displayed more clearly and accessible to everyone.
The Page management toolbox has also been enhanced. Admins will be able to manage access rights in detail depending on the specific tasks. Facebook states that content moderation is also being improved with upgraded detection and filtering capabilities for 'comments containing hate speech, violent content, pornography, spam, impersonation, and fraud.'
Finally, verified fanpages with the blue checkmark will appear more prominently in posts and comments. For example, comments from verified Pages on others' posts will be prioritized at the top of the comment section. These new changes will be rolled out to all Pages in the coming months.
