Faker is currently the Mid Laner with the lowest stats in the LCK Summer 2022 season.
Recently, South Korean media has released some statistics about Mid Laners after about 3 weeks of competition in the LCK Summer 2022. Although not final figures, these statistics provide the most comprehensive view of the playstyle and gameplay of current LCK teams. The most notable names are still Faker, ShowMaker, and Chovy.

Among the two Mid Laners considered the future of South Korean League of Legends, Chovy demonstrates more versatility. In any statistic, he shows superiority, not just over ShowMaker but over the rest of the tournament as well.
While not overly reliant on 1v1 encounters with opponents, Chovy ranks in the top 3 in all categories. Additionally, Chovy has the highest KDA among Mid Laners in the LCK Summer 2022.

As for ShowMaker, he falls behind significantly compared to his counterpart on Gen.G Esports. With fewer high damage-dealing champions in his pool and DWG KIA's playstyle no longer dominating opponents, ShowMaker's stats are only average compared to the tournament's general level.

Faker stands out as one of the Mid Laners with the worst stats in this LCK Summer 2022.
Especially, Faker has the lowest kill participation rate among Mid Laners competing in LCK Summer 2022. Additionally, his gold differential at 15 minutes is remarkably low, if not practically non-existent.

Explaining this, as Faker himself stated in an interview with Kikunews, for T1 currently, flexible gameplay from all five players is most important. Moreover, Faker has long played a role as a playmaker rather than a player who will have 'god-like' plays to dominate opponents. Therefore, it's not surprising that Faker's stats are so low.

And as long as this T1 playstyle continues to be effective, perhaps viewers don't need to see Faker's outstanding stats compared to other younger teammates. What matters is that Faker and T1 still dominate the tournament, win titles, and for the team's fans, that's more than enough.
