A Few Months Ago, The Rock Announces Exit from Fast & Furious Franchise after Years of Turmoil with Vin Diesel
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter in July, just a month after the release of Fast & Furious 9, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson bluntly asserted he would not be partaking in future projects of this franchise. The actor shared: “I wish everyone luck with Fast 9, Fast 10, 11, and the remaining Fast & Furious films - projects they'll pursue without me.” This is seen as an inevitable outcome after his conflicts with Vin Diesel, the brightest star of the Fast & Furious series.
However, Vin Diesel has recently taken to his personal Instagram to earnestly implore his brother to return to the Fast family for filming of the 10th installment. It's known that this will mark the conclusion of the franchise after two decades of dominating Hollywood. Previously, The Rock was absent from Fast 9 due to strained relations with Vin.

Vin Diesel's heartfelt letter to The Rock reads as follows: “Your little brother Dwayne... It's time. The world is eagerly awaiting the climax of Fast 10. You know, my kids still call you 'Uncle Dwayne.' Whether it's Christmas or New Year, you and the kids always exchange the best wishes.”
“But this moment has finally arrived. History awaits us. A few years ago, I told you I wanted to fulfill my promise to Pablo (Paul Walker). I swore we would create the grandest, most enticing finale for Fast, and that's the 10th installment! These are heartfelt wishes from the bottom of my heart. You have to come back, don't let this franchise falter when you have such a crucial role. No one can fill Hobbs' shoes. I hope you'll accept this offer and fulfill your mission.”

As of now, The Rock has yet to respond to Vin Diesel's heartfelt letter. The former wrestling sensation is heavily occupied with promoting Red Notice - Netflix's hundred-million-dollar blockbuster where he has the chance to work alongside Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds, two of Hollywood's hottest names in recent years.
The Rock also stands as one of the most sought-after stars at the moment. In the past year, despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the actor managed to secure two major projects, Jungle Cruise and Red Notice, while also lending his voice to a supporting character in Free Guy. In 2022, The Rock will join the DCEU through Warner Bros.'s Black Adam blockbuster, and he will also voice Krypto the Superdog in the DC League of Super-Pets animated film.
However, prior to this, The Rock has been involved in 5 projects within the Fast & Furious franchise and is adored by many fans. The main reason he walked away from this franchise was due to conflicts during his collaboration with Vin Diesel. Therefore, fans of the Fast family are eagerly awaiting The Rock's decision after his longtime co-star has extended an invitation for his return.
