Renowned Twitch streamer xQc recently shared with fans his rejection of a multimillion-dollar NFT advertising proposal
NFTs and blockchain are increasingly prevalent across various technology domains, from video games and online gaming to television and even real life. A significant amount of investment is poured into developing NFTs for celebrity endorsements. Despite the controversies and lingering concerns about the legality and credibility of virtual transactions, some celebrities opt to promote NFTs for substantial rewards. However, there are those who straightforwardly reject any association with NFTs. One notable figure in this regard is the popular Twitch streamer, xQc. Most recently, he confirmed his refusal of an NFT advertising offer worth over 27 billion VND.

xQc recently revealed receiving a $1.2 million (over 27 billion VND) offer for NFT advertising. What's even more surprising is that all xQc had to do was post three sponsored tweets, participate in a 5-minute 'tour,' and use custom overlays for his Twitch stream. This provides a glimpse into what celebrities receive to promote NFTs and enhance the reach of blockchain advertising to Twitch users, attracting audiences, often minors.

Those acquainted with xQc and his views on NFTs and blockchain understand the reasons behind his decision. xQc stated that this offer was like a 'cake falling from the sky,' but he is pleased to straightforwardly reject it. Over the years, xQc has expressed disagreement with the concept of NFTs and what they represent, so he won't go against his stance by accepting this offer.

xQc has previously labeled NFTs as scams and rubbish, using strong language to criticize them. The male streamer also frequently condemns Twitch streamers attempting to NFT everything with a disdainful attitude. In February, xQc commented on esports teams selling NFTs as 'pathetic' because he believes they are trying to exploit their fanbase. xQc also had a public argument with another streamer, Destiny, leaking a message from Destiny criticizing NFTs. Currently, Destiny is running NFT ads.
Despite NFTs being a sensitive topic for celebrities and 27 billion VND not being a small sum, xQc happens to be wealthy enough to decline the offer without much thought. However, for other Twitch streamers like Destiny, it seems he may not have the luxury to make such a decisive decision.

Regardless of xQc's apparent disdain for NFTs, many speculate this may not be the last time he receives enticing offers related to NFTs or blockchain. In fact, this might not even be the most valuable invitation he's received. Companies in this field are only interested in the profit potential of media collaborations with xQc, and it wouldn't be surprising if they continue to try and persuade the male streamer to change his views on NFTs.
